My faction leader doesn't have high enough authority to adopt anyone either. If the opposing party was to break away now, 2 of my 3 armies would turn hostile and I couldn't even recruit a new general since all available characters are of the opposing party. Lastly, who should I let lead my armies? I want to avoid giving characters of the opposing party large armies, but so far I have not a single available character that supports my party. Should I keep increasing it or try to boost the opposing party? Some 20 or so turns in I now have 75% influence. In my current co-op campaign I play Sparta and stated off with 72% influence. But the more influence I have, the better bonuses I get for my campaign, and I find no reference ingame that having higher influence could result in negative consequences. Online in the official politics guide it says that there should always be a balance between all parties. However I don't quite know what level of influence my ruling party should aim for. I've read your guide and it's cleared up many things. I am aware that this is a very old post, but I hope asking questions is still fine. Think we missed one? Their naval expertise could lead to expansion into Aethiopia. Located at the southernmost part of the Arabian Peninsula, Saba has relatively secure borders to the south and west, accessible only by water. Having said that, they are highly-resilient, tough people who are formidable enemies of anyone daring to threaten their great capital city of Marib. As a nation of traders, farmers and engineers, the Sabaeans are not natural warriors, preferring to trust mercenaries to protect their trade routes and caravans.

The Sabaeans are also very good sailors, with excellent trade relations with people living across the Red Sea, as the most important source of profit and wealth in Saba is the lucrative trade of frankincense and myrrh. They've built dams, invented new irrigation techniques, and became experts in managing the scarce water of these dry areas. The Sabaean kingdom lies in the harsh lands of the southern Arabian Peninsula, but the inhospitable conditions haven't prevented these ingenious people from thriving.
